So yesterday the repair man came. I got a call late in the morning saying he'd be here around lunch time, which was way more prompt than I was expecting, so I scrambled myself into the bathroom to get presentable. Still steaming about the edges from the hot water, I dressed with more haste than speed, taking little notice of what I was actually throwing on. RoflJust then there was a knock on the door. I rushed out to answer it, but it was only my mother. As she zoomed by without a glance on her way to visit the much looked forward to smallest-room-in-the-house, I caught the words floating back to me that she needed me to take care of her taxi fare 'cos she'd had to make a stop on her way and had run out of ready cash. I quite happily snatched up my purse and trotted out to the waiting taxi. What I didn't realise in all this was that in my rush to get dressed, the shirt I had selected (a stretchy bit of fake velvet) had, as I yanked the garment down to my hips, snagged itself on a protruding bit of lace attached to my bra and had not properly sprung back into position. In short, I was exposed. And thus it was that as I leant down into the taxi cab to hand the driver my card I witnessed something I've never seen before. A 50+ grown man revert in the space of three seconds to a sputtering, blushing 12 year old school boy. I wonder if he thought I was trying to get out of paying the fare? P.S. Any of yon Melbournites wanna come see PotC with me? Or Spiderman 3? I wanna go to the mooooovies! | ||

| Mmmm, Scotch. I bought a bottle last night on impulse while I was out doing the week's shopping. First alcoholic drink that has touched my lips in months. Of course, I drank too much. Consequently I slept for only god knows how long, but strangely woke up feeling amazingly refreshed. Shall have to spend most of Monday (and maybe Tuesday, depending on various scheduling things) waiting for repairmen for the TV and washing machine. The one is making no sound and the other is leaking. Bleh. I hate waiting around. Maybe I'll use the time to finish off my artses for Clam :) On that front, "talk show host" is shaping up nicely, as is "the voices", "guru" needs a bit of work. That darned angel card is still giving me problems though. Can't quite nail the concept. On the other hand it's provided me with enough raw material to flesh out about 3 or 4 different paintings, so I can't complain too bitterly, lol. Right, off to paint for a bit before taking a disco nap so I'll be awake when repair guy gets here. | ||

Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! There's nothing on TV but Big Brother and football all night! I've been contacted by Con, a guy who was a member of Elysium's Shadow for all of five minutes. He wants a female singer for the new stuff he's working on and thought of me first. Flattering I suppose. Anyway, he called me today and we're going to meet up (along with our old drummer Daniel) and see what happens. It's a very different feeling from when I was first meeting the other erstwhile members of Elysium's Shadow. I suppose 'cos everyone was a stranger back then and I had no idea what to expect. Now I have no expectations, just going along to jam. curiousCurrent Music: You - Breaking Benjamin I suppose this means I should start practising again? Lol. It'd be interesting to see what a guitarist would make of the tunes I've been writing lately. All piano stuff, with a little string accompaniment (may I say I really hate the strings settings on this keyboard. So tinny sounding), and not very metal at all. Anyhow, have a mate coming over tonight, so I suppose I should tidy up a bit. Later! | ||

| Today I went with my brother and scarlettarcher to see a screening of season 4 of Red vs Blue. If you don't know what that is, it's machinima. If you don't know what that is, go here If after going there you think I'm mad, you're probably right. Before the screening (which was I don't know how many hours of laughing my backside off in one of the most uncomfortable theatre seats ever) Gus Sorola , one of the show's creators, did a little interview for our benefit as well as kindly taking some questions afterwards. My brother got in a few questions then, none of which I remember except to say that Gus was very patient. After the in-theatre part was over we all headed downstairs to meet the man up close and get Scarlett's DVDs signed. There were hors d'oeuvres and bubbly, the first of which my brother glommed onto while I took care of latter. I didn't really do much more than wave to Gus 'cos Scarlett looked like she was about to drop from hunger and fatigue (naughty Scarlett, take care of yourself), so after she'd got her autographs we hurried on over to the nearest eatery for something more substantial than mini spinach and cheese pastries while my brother stuck around to talk machinima. All in all, a very fun day. My only regret is that I didn't get to say to Gus "Hey, do you ever wonder why we're here?" (Watch the show, people. You'll get it then XD ) | ||

Bah, where's the rain? It's been thundering for ages, but still no darned rain. I woke up today, took a bath and, once dressed and ready for the day, immediately fell right back to sleep. My limbs have that kind of heavy feeling you get when you drink to much alcohol too quickly, only without the pleasant buzz that goes with that. Everything seems kind of fuzzy around the edges and this heat is wearing on me much more than it should. Thus it is that I've decided to bite the bullet and go see a doctor. Not too many people know how much I loath and despise doctors as a species, or how much the idea of a blood test terrifies me, yet that is where I am going and why. I think I may be iron deficient, even anemic. The symptoms all fit (to a freaky degree) and I'm just so bloody tired of being tired (no pun intended). In other news my sore wrist is feeling much better, a little tender still but no more major twinges. If it's turns out it's still playing up at the end of the weekend I'll get the doc to check that out too, but I doubt it will be. Wish me luck! | ||

I saw a comment just now in someone elses journal that made an oblique mention of the upcoming revival of 'Equus' starring Daniel Radcliffe, so not having seen the play or movie, I decided to check it out and see what the fuss is about. Here http://www.equustheplay.com/ is the link to the official site, and I have to say that intro is about the most genuinely creepy thing I've seen in months. Doesn't involve anything really graphic (unless you count Daniel Radcliffe looking like a horse) but it's downright chilling anyhow. fullCurrent Music: An ep. of MASH playing in the other room Now I don't like, can barely stand in fact, anything that involves cruelty to animals so it's unlikely that I'll ever see Equus (as it seems to involve mutilation with a metal spike), but I'll admit I'm made curious by the mention of the psychology of the thing. The thing that really interests me though is some of the reactions to Radcliffe's involvement. Admittedly he's young, the same age as the character he plays actually, but I don't really think that's why it makes people so squick about the whole thing. It's Harry Potter. No on wants to see Harry Potter, not Daniel Radcliffe, in that role. Most especially not the parents who thought he was such a cute little kid, nice and safe for their own little darlings to identify with (and I suppose it doesn't make it any better that Unlce Vernon, aka Richard Griffiths, is playing the other lead, heh). Setting that aside, I'm rather inclined to applaud Radcliffe for taking on what is undoubtedly an extremely challenging role. IMO nudity is overrated, but playing such a disturbed mind will be a real test of his acting ability. It'll be interesting to read the reviews when the thing finally opens. | ||

Woe is me! I've been stricken down with a very dodgy tummy. The diagnosis; gastro. Shall spare you the details, but long story short I had a nasty couple of days there. Fortunately, as fearsome as these things are, they are not of great duration and I am feeling a great deal better now. The source of the illness is an utter mystery, I did not eat anything out of the usual, nor did I eat anything that was not also eaten by others and no one else got sick. In addition to which my hands are always most scrupulously clean. Not fair really. *pout*Anyways, I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that I spent my time most bearably playing video games all day long. It's rare I have an actual plausible excuse to sit around in my pyjamas playing games all day, so you can be sure I made the most of it :D I also made good friends with the hot water bottle. I think I shall even miss it now that it's no longer required. It looks sort of lonely and forlorn all empty and flat like that. Poor thing. In other news, I would like to deliver a collective bear hug to my f-list. For one reason or another it seems that a lot of people I care about are going through some hard times right now. I won't itemize the list of heartaches and grief here, but know that I'm thinking of you all and hoping and praying that you'll find the answers and solace you need. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm an excellent listener. Consider that an open invitation. Well it's breakfast time here now, which means any moment the cat is going to mug me and demand food at the point of a very sharp claw, so I think I'll go head her off :D | ||
